Nvidia Grid Upgrade Matrix

Here are the following supported upgrade paths and compatibility for the Nvidia Grid Drivers

Release notes containing compatibility can be found by googling the below, substituting Rxyz for your version
Virtual GPU Software Rxyz for VMware vSphere Release Notes, the link is here, you will need to substitute the vGPU version if yours is different

Here is an example table for the supported versions

Here the vGPU Manager is referring to the drivers on the host, like ESXi
And the guest VM drivers are that on your Windows/Linux guest OS
The Guest VM drivers should match the host, the only time they should differ is during an upgrade

As for whats in supports, as of August 2025, these are in support from Nvidia, so if you arent on a supported version, you will want to upgrade

450 Series – STS

You can use this version on your host and it will work with the following Guest versions
450/v11
440/v10

460 Series – STS

You can use this version on your host and it will work with the following Guest versions
460/v12
450/v11

470 Series – LTS

You can use this version on your host and it will work with the following Guest versions
470/v13
460/v12
450/v11

535 Series – LTS

You can use this version on your host and it will work with the following Guest versions
535/v16
525/v15
470/v13

550 Series – STS

You can use this version on your host and it will work with the following Guest versions
550/v17
535/v16

570 Series – STS

You can use this version on your host and it will work with the following Guest versions
570/v18
550/v17

580 Series – LTS

You can use this version on your host and it will work with the following Guest versions
580/v19
570/v18
535/v16
