Yes it does, just the left half, I put instructions on how to set that up on the guide in section 5 but let me know if you get stuck, my email is on the site footer on the right :)

Gosh now Im having to think back as this was quite a while ago
I will have done this as the management network, including the NSX manager to separate it out from my main network, as its a lab, my main network is 192.168.1.0/24, so I used the next block up, you can use whatever range you like
Its worth noting this article is not very relevant if you have VCF

Yes by default it places it on the same IP range as the management domain network
I believe this is because the vCenter and optional NSX instance will be in that domain on that network too

Yes, in VCF 9.1 we can share the management NSX instance with workload domains, I would say its more efficient, you get overlap, so there may be reasons you want to separate them, but that comes down to your needs
Its worth noting, the small or medium deployment sizes in VCF deploy Medium NSX managers, which can only support 2 vCenters, I cant find clarification, but its my understainding the method to scale up the NSX managers to support more vCenters is to manually resize them 1 by 1 in a cluster

Thanks for the kind words <3

If you have 24vCPU/48GB VCF Service Runtime nodes, it sounds like you did a medium deployment perhaps? The default for small is half that over 3 nodes
I am working on a downsize for labs at the end of the month

I will be doing a post on my lab next month, or August as well when I get everything moved into the rack, lotta work there

So far its been solid, despite my abuse, its coming I promise, the documentation is done, I just need to fire up the lab and verify that what I think is the right commends for scaling the nodes works
I have seen a script from another community member which I do want to play around with as it should remove the HA DB for the lifecycle stuff which will help even more

My June has been manic but its on the top of the pile for July

Hi! I saw your post about downscaling VCF services, and you promised to provide more details. Could you please let me know if everything worked properly for you, or if you ran into any issues and that’s why you deleted everything?

I am relatively new to the IT world. However, I must say this blog is amazing, Truly!!! I have been watching Youtube content and courses for VCF 9 however none of them (which I have sourced) come close to how this blog explains the steps. Absolutely inspiring stuff

The requirement for VCF 9.1 has increased quite much I must say. I am looking for some details on how we can minimize the Infra for HomeLabs, one of the ideas that came to mind was to have management domain also act as workload domain, is this something feasible? Also since we do have some of the things here as add-on what do you reckon I can skip to have some less load on my servers.

I have 3 nodes each with 24 cores and 48 GB RAM, storage I can increase (have around 18TiB spread across these 3 nodes), would have loved to use ESA with vSAN however I am restricted by my HDDs.

Also if you could share the details of your hosts that would be awesooomeee. Thanks!

P.S.: I fear NSX idk why

Thanks for the great info!

I have two questions.

1. Is it correct that the Cloud Proxy for the workload domain follows the WLD Mgmt range rather than the MGD Mgmt range?

2. Is it possible to share and use NSX from MGD with WLD? I am wondering if this is recommended (and if so, if there are any documentation).
